The Truth Behind Tarot & Psychic Medium Readings: Why Giving Them for Free is Not the Best Idea

In today’s digital age, seeking tarot readings has become increasingly popular among people looking for guidance or insights into their lives. However, the practice of offering free tarot readings has also gained traction, often marketed as a way to help others without any monetary exchange. While the idea of providing free services may seem noble at first glance, there are compelling reasons why giving free tarot readings may not be the best approach. Let’s dive into the reasons why you should think twice before offering free tarot readings.

So everyone might be wondering why, I am insisting on a payment for this blog? Because with you, I am sharing some of my top ethics and principles.

These things other professionals could take on board and utilise as their own. If they are willing to pay to me for my time and services, then so be it but remember you are claimed by copyright - so to violate my techniques in written form or otherwise would be a violation of that.

No one taught me this stuff! No one showed me this stuff! It is stuff I knew or have learnt from experience and I am not sharing those experiences for free, so they are used and abused.

I do share this information for free, openly with my clients, should the topics ever arise ie where it is relevant but definitely not in it's full context.

Essentially it is a marketing ploy, to offer a partial reading or mini reading for free or super cheap... it will later lead you to wanting to buy more or get some addons. Or asking for donations later. And that is fine, as long as the person is totally transparent about that.

Who wants to feel obligated or forced, even if the reading was good, no matter the info good or bad.

The Importance of Valuing Your Expertise

Tarot, psychic or any kind of reading is a skill that requires time, dedication, and a deep understanding of the symbolism and interpretations of the cards. As a tarot reader, you have likely invested significant effort into honing your craft and developing your intuitive abilities. Offering free readings undermines the value of the expertise and energy you have put into mastering this art form. It also risks the person not taking it seriously, then not listening and actioning and concerningly ruining their life potentially.

The Energy Exchange Principle

In the realm of spiritual practices like tarot reading, the concept of energy exchange plays a crucial role. When you provide a service, whether it's a tarot reading or any other form of spiritual guidance, there should be a balanced exchange of energy. This exchange can take the form of monetary compensation, a barter agreement, or any other mutually agreed-upon means. Giving free readings disrupts this balance and can lead to an imbalance in the energetic exchange, which may ultimately impact the quality of the readings you provide.

This does not always pair well either, unless you're an average to below average reader who does not care how often they get asked for readings or when. You run the risk of the person becoming addicted or dependent on you - but that also depends on your reading style. My own personally and professionally gives you the tools and means to steer your own direction, whilst allowing you to know, I am there if you need me!

Setting Boundaries and Establishing Respect

By offering free tarot readings, you may inadvertently attract individuals who do not value your time, effort, or expertise. Setting boundaries and establishing respect for your work is essential in maintaining a healthy practitioner-client relationship. When clients receive services for free, they may not fully appreciate the insights and guidance you offer, leading to a lack of respect for the art of tarot reading and the effort you put into each reading session.

It comes back to people just wanting to get close to you, to get things out of you!

Upholding Professionalism in Your Practice

As a tarot reader, professionalism is key to building trust with your clients and establishing yourself as a reliable practitioner. Offering free readings can give the impression that your services are less valuable or that you lack confidence in your abilities. By charging a fair price for your services, you not only uphold the professionalism of your practice but also convey the message that you take your craft seriously and are committed to providing high-quality readings.

The Value of Exchange in Reciprocity

In a world where everything has a value, the concept of exchange is deeply ingrained in our society. By offering free tarot readings, you may be denying your clients the opportunity to reciprocate the energy and insights you provide. A fair exchange not only benefits you as a practitioner but also allows your clients to appreciate the value of the guidance they receive and the effort you put into each reading.

A disservice

If I did not have appropriate time to dedicate to your reading, I would be doing you a shortcut, a disservice and a disservice to the powers that be.

VAMPIRES

A vampire will say "your gift should be shared for free" "you are obligated to share your gift for free"... FUCK THAT PERSON AND THEIR NEED TO SUCK US DRY!

If you are one of those people, you need a major reality check. DO YOU WORK FOR FREE? WHO IS PAYING FOR YOUR KIDS FOOD?

The powers that be, DO NOT WANT US WORKING FOR FREE.

If reading is a hobby to you, you are learning or it's not a serious life element or necessary - find someone willing to do it for free, or yes do it for free BUT if you are not naturally gifted, if this is not your full time job, if you are learning, if this is just some outside joke to you - then you probably should not be doing it at all.

My friend I used to do the trade readings with, NEVER TAUGHT ME how to use tarot. I just picked the cards up and read them, as if I had already been taught! This is a gift.

My friend was a vampire. All our acquaintances that used and abused me, were all energy and time vampires, in more ways than 1 or that I care to recall.

If you are good at what you do, most people won't mind paying you. If you are great at what you do, even if the person hates giving over their hard earned cash, they will know deep down, that it was worth it.

Each client deserves your dedicated time and you deserve to be remunerated appropriately for said time, especially if you're saving lives and saving them major life hassles.

FREE readings create monsters! FREE readings do not have clients appreciating me, my service or the insight. Do you think the powers that be are ok with that?

Conclusion

While the idea of providing free tarot readings may initially seem like a generous gesture, it is essential to consider the implications of such actions on your practice and the perception of your expertise. Valuing your skills, establishing boundaries, and upholding professionalism are key aspects of maintaining a successful and fulfilling tarot reading practice. By charging a fair price for your services, you not only acknowledge the value of your expertise but also ensure that both you and your clients engage in a balanced and respectful exchange of energy.

Next time you feel tempted to offer free tarot readings, remember the importance of valuing your time and expertise. Your skills are valuable, and it is essential to cultivate a practice that reflects the dedication and effort you have invested in honing your craft.

Remember, the energy you put into your practice should be reciprocated and respected. Embrace the power of fair exchange and watch as your tarot readings become even more meaningful and fulfilling for both you and your clients.

Free reading recipients are less likely to listen to advice or insight and you and I could therefore be causing them a disservice.

Experience and life has taught me that the best thing I can do, is charge my clients for my time as they are more likely to listen and therefore have a more successful and happier life! That is the end game here - we want to see our clients HAPPY!

Additionally, most people who do readings for free, are often doing it for EGO PURPOSES ONLY or wanting to feel needed or desired, just like a narcissist does.
